Palestrante: Riichiro Mizoguchi - Japan Institute of Science and Technology

Riichiro MIZOGUCHI had been a full professor of the Institute of Scientific and Industrial Research, Osaka University from 1990 to 2012
and is currently a research professor of the Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology. His research interests include knowledge-based systems, theories of role and function, ontological engineering and intelligent learning support systems. He is among the TOP 10 researchers wolrdwide in number of citations in the field of Ontology Engineering, Intelligent Tutoring Systems and Artificial Intelligence in Education. He received honorable mention for the Pattern Recognition Society Award, the Institute of Electronics, Information and Communication Engineers Award. He also received several best paper awards from the International Conference on Computers in Education and the Japanese Society of Antificial Inteliigence. Prof. RIichiro was the President of International AIED Society, Asia-Pacific Society for Computers in Education, President of Japanese Society of AI, Vice-President of Semantic Web Science Association (SWSA). He was one of the Editors-in-Chiefis of the International Journal of Web Semantics and is currently an editorial member of the Journal of Applied Ontology and Associate Editor of ACM TiiS.
